BIO

Dr. Augusto Macalalag Jr. is the Assistant Director, STEM Education Research, and co-Principal Investigator of an NSF grant-funded project. He is involved in co-designing and co-teaching science courses as part of the Science and Engineering Foundations in Education Program at Stevens. His research interests include enhancing K-12 science and engineering education through teacher education programs. His dissertation examined the changes in preservice teachers' knowledge of science inquiry and practice of lesson design as a result of four science methods courses. He has a B.S. in Chemistry and M.A. in Education from St. Peter's College, Post-Masters in Educational Leadership from The College of New Jersey, and Doctor of Education in Science from Rutgers University.
