BIO

Dr. Keith G. Sheppard is Associate Dean of Engineering & Science in the Charles V. Schaefer Jr. School of Engineering & Science at Stevens Institute of Technology where he is also a professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering & Material Science. His research interests include electrochemical processing and environmental degradation of materials. His education in the U.K. included B.Sc. (University of Leeds) and Ph.D. (University of Birmingham) degrees in Metallurgy and a Diploma in Industrial Administration (Aston University).
As Associate Dean, Prof. Sheppard has had a leading role in the development of the undergraduate engineering curriculum at Stevens, including innovations in design education and initiatives to include entrepreneurship and sustainability education for engineering students and one currently on global education for undergraduates. He coordinates the Green Engineering undergraduate minor and graduate certificate programs. He is also promoting engineering education research and adoption of research-based teaching methodologies. Sheppard is active in the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) and is a past Chair of the Design in Engineering Education Division (DEED). He is the 2009 recipient of the Henry Morton Distinguished Teaching Professor award from Stevens.
